St.George's Village Fayre takes place on Saturday 24th. It's a whole day of family entertainment and fun celebrating England and all who live in this "Green and Pleasant Land". This year it promises to be even bigger, and attractions include:

  • The Official Jester of the City of Salisbury and his apprentices
  • A 'Punch & Judy' Show
  • Mistress Rosie the Storyteller of Croftonia
  • The "Devils Jump" Lancashire Clog Dancers
  • The Birnie Boozle Band
  • The Nasira Turkish Dancers
  • The Early Medieval Re-enactment Group WEOROD
portraying a Jutish Tribe, the Meonwara who settled the Crofton area around the year 642

On Sunday 25th it is hoped to make a World Record with a procession of Minis and Motorbikes. Anyone wishing to take part should assemble at The Red Lion at 11 am and plan to return to Stubbington Green at 12.30 with their Flag of St George flying. Nearly 60 Bikers and 20 Mini Car Drivers took part last year and the day was a great success meeting old friends and making new ones, and enjoying the great burgers.

The aim is to involve the whole community, and anyone wishing to help or take an active part should contact Reg Norton on 01329 663661 or by email to as soon as possible.

Further details and changes to acts cane be found at the Crofton Lions' website.
